Babes in the Abyss' first album Physis was born of impressions that arrive, for Babes in the Abyss, like apparitions from beyond, commanding to be reunited with the natural world and joined with the psyche of the collective. Themes of nature, transformation, dreams, intuition, human potential, society, sickness and privilege are interwoven throughout the album's tracks that emerge from the dark -- heavy and mysterious, majestic and hopeful. Babes in the Abyss ceremoniously offers up their obscure brand of organ-driven avant-garde music through haunting vocals, heavy riffs and decisive rhythms that give pause to reflect on the subtle yet powerful notion, that hidden behind the red velvet curtain of the human mind nature is everywhere -- within and without.

Babes in the Abyss is a dark primitive avant-garde keyboard-drum-bass band. Created in Helsinki, Finland, with roots in the rural north, started in 2016.
